Within the quiet churchyards and the grand avenues of City Cemeteries, such as Père Lachaise, I seek the architecture of the afterlife. This project is a study of the 'final residence'—the permanent homes we build from granite, iron, and marble to defy the passing of time.
Through my lens, these tombs are not merely markers of the end, but monuments of endurance.
Dernière Demeure explores the silent dignity of the stones, the 'Sentinels' that guard them, and the beauty found in a surrender to the moss and the elements.

La Voix de Bronze

This powerful, contemplative figure in the Père Lachaise Cemetery marks the final resting place of the French baritone singer Georges Thill (1897–1984).

Known as one of the greatest French lyric tenors, his monument reflects the same dramatic presence he brought to the stage of the Paris Opera. The statue itself is titled Le Chant (The Song), though it is often colloquially compared to Rodin's The Thinker due to its pensive, muscular pose.

Le repos éternel d'une amitié sans fin

Deeply personal, this is the grave of my beloved and hugely eccentric friend Hilary. Between her family and her friends we raised the money to buy her plot in the cemetery she held dear.  Truly beautiful, she rests alongside Keats and Shelley to name a few.

The vulgar little book you see was one of her homemade gifts that she gave out to her friends, so you could carry it with you and remind yourself of your humanity.

And the litte FTS stone?  Fuck That Shit!  Her favourite saying.
