I have always been more comfortable with the stillness of stone and the predictable geometry of architecture. Moving subjects—specifically the fleeting, erratic life of birds—represent a genre that has always challenged me. L'Aile du Jour is a record of my attempt to bridge that gap.
Here, I am learning to catch the light on a wing rather than a grave, documenting these 'Sentinels' as they navigate the sky and my garden. This is not a genre I have mastered at all, but it is a journey I am determined to document as I attempt to refine my eye for the world in motion.

Hawfinch - a rare sight and such a dull day, so alas, very grainy!
